About Quadracycle Inc. & Four Wheel Bike
Our story, oddly enough, begins right where another story ends. Ed,... former owner of Quadracycle Incorporated, had been turning out these wonderful 'quad cycles' for the better part of 15 years near his home in Indiana. All was well until a tragic fire forever changed Ed's life. While the business was not a total loss, the fire had caused enough damage to bring his little factory to a stand still.
After the smoke cleared, Ed thought long and hard about whether or not he was up for the challenge of trying to rebuild his business. In the end, Ed decided it was simply time to walk away and pass on the knowledge to someone who would respect the past and carry on the proud tradition of Quadracycle Inc.
Turns out that Ed had made hundreds of these pedal vehicles over the years - most of them still in service to this day. With existing customers always looking for parts and accessories, Ed wanted to ensure that whomever he sold the business to would take care of all his previous customers while continuing to build the best four wheel 'bike' on the market.
After much deliberation, we agreed to buy Quadracycle Inc. from Ed with the idea that he would help us successfully navigate the transition. Since that time, we've secured the necessary information, parts, equipment and a whole host of other odds and ends necessary to create these much beloved pedal 'bikes'.
The business is now based in Arthur, Illinois, in the heart of the Amish community. The Amish are renown for many things and while you may or may not have heard, riding bicycles is one of them. They are also known for their amazing craftsmanship and extraordinary attention to detail. We chose Arthur and the Amish community because we wanted to make the best possible product built by people with extraordinary attention to detail and a commitment to uncompromising workmanship who also understand the daily joy and inherent challenges of cycling.
These pedal vehicles or 'bikes' are really a feat of engineering and ingenuity that require true skill and painstaking attention to each detail to make. Needless to say, pictures just don't due these 'bikes' justice - you need to ride one to truly experience what they can do. We use the term 'bike' loosely because it means 'two wheels' and as you can see, these vehicles are so much more than 2 extra wheels and pedals.
FourWheelBike.net is a subsidiary of and exclusive dealer for Quadracycle Incorporated. The look and name have been updated to reflect our new focus and continued committment to this unique product. We are currently accepting orders. Each custom made pedal vehicle takes approximately 6-8 weeks to build. Please allow another 5-7 business days to deliver.
